Hard Rock Cafe proposed Dublin location
Hard Rock International is amping up its iconic presence in Dublin with plans to open a hotel in 2020. Dublin’s first Hard Rock Hotel will celebrate the pioneering artists that have contributed to the city’s cultural vibrancy and will shine a light on the capital’s rich history of rock and roll that spans generations and styles.
Located in the heart of the capital’s city centre, close to Temple Bar, the Hard Rock Hotel will encompass two sites on Lord Edward Street; the Parliament Hotel which is a listed structure, built at the turn of the 20th century, and the neighboring Fashion House Building. It will be a stone’s throw away from the city’s most visited landmarks and attractions such as Trinity College, Grafton Street, St. Stephen’s Green and the world-famous Guinness Storehouse.
The SVP & Head of Global Hotel Development for Hard Rock International, Todd Hricko said, “Ireland has always been a place close to our hearts, and it only seems right to open a Hard Rock Hotel in Dublin, given the city’s musical roots. This is an exciting opportunity to extend our presence in Europe and elevate the one-of-a-kind offering at Hard Rock Hotels to the next level.”
From the lobby to the unique restaurant and bar space, Hard Rock Hotel Dublin will bring a new design experience to Dublin’s hotel landscape. The Fashion House will be entirely transformed into the Hard Rock Hotel reception and entrance — the re-build will include a new glass link bridge that will connect it to the refurbished Parliament building, giving the design a modern feel. The red brick façade of 1912 will stay and be restored to the original. However, the interiors are being completely reimagined to mirror the Hard Rock ethos as a communal house of music fandom, with pictures and memorabilia adorning the walls.
Intimate booth seating and eclectic fittings and furnishings will enhance communal areas and there will be 120 guest bedrooms and suites kitted out with warm fumed woods, exposed stone surfaces, bespoke Ulster carpets as well as vibrant fabrics. The hotel will also boast an electrifying restaurant as well as a casual bar serving cocktails and 24-hour in-room dining.
Guests will have the freedom to set the mood of their trip with the
The Sound of Your Stay® music program that provides guests with complimentary vinyl players and records as well as the option to play a Fender guitar during an in-room jam session. For those looking for a quieter time, the hotel will also be home to their newly launched wellness program
Rock Om®, which offers an in-room yoga experience.
In Ireland, Hard Rock International is working in collaboration with one of Ireland's largest hotel companies; Tifco Limited. Speaking about the project, CEO of Tifco Ltd Enda O’Meara said “The hotel’s custom design based around the existing handsome early 20th century building will be unique, modern and sophisticated, offering upscale 4-star luxury with a standalone F&B proposition that we plan to put on the map. Hard Rock Hotel Dublin will be the place to see and be seen with live music nightly, excellent food and cocktails, and authentic Irish service.”
