Get in touch

While MICE activities have been temporarily postponed due to the pandemic, research and planning carried out now will yield the best possible venues and services for future trips. Once you see just how much the Shannon Region has to offer, get in touch with the Meet in Ireland team to transform a dream MICE experience into a reality.

Located on the west coast of Ireland, the Shannon Region is a premier MICE destination close to the Wild Atlantic Way, the world's longest signposted coastal drive. The region boasts spectacular scenery including the awesome Cliffs of Moher; the Burren; Atlantic seascapes; miles of golden beaches and the rolling plains of the Golden Vale, while also offering a great riverside city experience in Limerick (one of Ireland's oldest cities). An authentic Irish experience awaits delegates when they arrive in this truly unique destination.

With its own international airport and a rail and road network linking it to other parts of Ireland, this region is easily accessible from almost anywhere in the world. Shannon Airport offers flights from the UK, Europe and the USA, with TSA pre-clearance for those travelling to America makes it the perfect destination for North American delegates. Despite being a peaceful, relaxed area of the country, Limerick, Galway and Cork cities are nearby, while Dublin is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes away by road.

Dromoland Castle

Accommodate your guests in five star country resorts, picture-perfect castles or quaint boutique hotels and spoil them with a wide range of activities and sightseeing options. Conferences, meetings and events are all easily managed with the top-class MICE facilities of the area.

In a world still cautious about COVID-19, bringing delegates to the open spaces and remote areas of the Shannon Region helps to put their minds at ease and keep them safe, while providing a sumptuous setting and all the facilities they require. Let them get away from it all and make doing business effortless when you choose the Shannon Region.

Limerick

A city brimming with history and stories to tell, Limerick's medieval quarter is waiting to be discovered: from King John’s Castle to St. Mary’s Cathedral, one of Limerick’s oldest buildings. Take in a tour of the iconic Thomond Park Rugby Stadium or visit Adare, Ireland’s prettiest village. Limerick City and its surrounding areas have a wealth of fantastic accommodation, venues and experiences to offer any MICE delegate.

Located in the city, the five star Savoy Hotel is just 25 minutes’ drive from Shannon Airport. Its sophisticated decor and warm welcome will have guests feeling relaxed, while its conference and meeting facilities can host up to 250 people.

Adare Manor

Just outside Limerick lies the tranquillity of the award-winning Adare Manor. This five star castle resort is surrounded by 840 acres of pristine parkland, ensuring privacy and security for your group. Located approximately 25 minutes from the local airport, Adare Manor has 104 bedrooms and can cater for MICE gatherings of up to 350 people. Fill the schedule with a range of fun and exhilarating activities, from an Irish gundog experience to padel and falconry — these amazing experiences have something to offer every guest. The golf course at Adare Manor has collected numerous global accolades, capped off by the recent confirmation of its Ryder Cup host venue status in 2027.

County Clare

Picturesque County Clare is home to the charming towns of Shannon, Ennis and Lahinch, along with idyllic locations like Doolin, Liscannor, Ballyvaughan and Doonbeg. Explore the Burren Region, famous for its landscape and flora, enjoy sweeping ocean views atop the 213m high Cliffs of Moher or explore the west of Ireland with a custom-designed treasure trail. Your delegates can take part in fun sporting activities like hurling and sheep herding and sample local cuisine, all while taking in the stunning views that Ireland has to offer.

The Burren

Bringing guests to explore this stunning scenery will earn you brownie points for sure, but accommodating them in Dromoland Castle will make you a legend. The 16th century castle has numerous rooms and suites, perfect for your delegates to relax in after a meeting or conference in their many available spaces.

In the Shannon Region, you'll have the chance to book an entire medieval castle for your guests' sole use . If exclusivity is important, Ballyhannon Castle approximately 15 minutes from Shannon Airport is an excellent choice. Accommodating up to 25 people, it offers a unique venue for a small gathering or event.

Another landmark famous for its hospitality is Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, which offers meeting, banqueting and team-building facilities. Set on 26 acres, visitors to the folk park experience a reconstruction of the homes and environment of Ireland of over a century ago. Your delegates can join the mná an tí (women of the house) in the Golden Vale Farmhouse to watch as they prepare Irish wholemeal brown bread, delicious fruit scones, griddle cake and Shannon soda bread for a truly authentic Irish experience.

Bunratty Folk Park

No visit to the Shannon Region would be complete without taking in the wonderous Lakelands, home to Secret Ireland Escapes. Secret Ireland Escapes takes guests to secret locations in and around Ireland’s undiscovered Lakelands — visitors will travel Ireland through the ages as they meet local personalities (sometimes in their very own home) and embark on an adventure by road, air or water, from chauffeur-driven vintage cars to Ireland’s first and only skippered motor yacht.
