The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) was a big winner at the annual Green Awards held at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road on February 25th last. The CCD picked up The Green Tourism and Entertainment Award in recognition of their efforts in sustainability and the fact that they are the world's first carbon-neutral convention centre.
The judging panel, made up of expert green leaders, put the CCD ahead of illustrious competition like the Ashford Castle Estate and Guinness Storehouse. The award is open to all businesses within the tourism, hospitality and entertainment industry that can demonstrate their commitment to reducing the environmental impact of their business.
The CCD's Head of Marketing and Communications, Suzanne McGann and the Building Services Contracts Manager, Paul Moore collected the award on behalf of the team. Ms McGann said "We are delighted to win this award in recognition of our commitment to leading sustainable practices in the events and hospitality industry.
The sustainability strategy of The CCD plays an important role in the delivery of our vision. We understand that everyone plays a role in minimising our impact on the environment, and it is that commitment from our teams, coupled with our innovative initiatives that allows us to deliver on our vision."
This award is a further endorsement of the excellence and high standards the CCD delivers concerning their commitment to the environment. This commitment to excelling is nothing new to the CCD as they continually bring a high level of service to everything they do.
