Great Outdoors

Perfect for a little adventure

Handling a Falcon in Killarney Falconry in Co. Kerry

There’s a wealth of Irish outdoor team-building activities to choose from, ranging from a relaxed pace to higher intensity level. One gentle but thrilling option is falconry. The team at Killarney Falconry take groups out on a leisurely stroll through the picturesque Kerry countryside, allowing them to handle and fly these fabulous birds of prey. Archery is another fun activity that’s suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Extreme Sports will organise either a fun day or practise, or something a little more competitive if your delegates fancy taking each other on!

Would they prefer something a little more physically challenging? No problem! They’ll enjoy fantastic panoramic views of Dublin Bay during A Day of Sailing with INSS. Xtreme meanwhile host a Bear Grylls Survival Academy; in the lush surrounds of North Co. Dublin your team will learn all about natural navigation, fire-lighting and wild cooking. Or, if you’d like to sample something uniquely Irish, why not opt for a day of Dynamic Gaelic Games in the stunning lake district of Blessington, Co. Wicklow. Here, you’ll get to try your hands at the ancient, fast-paced and absolutely thrilling sports of hurling and Gaelic football.

Stay Indoors

For something a little different

There are lots of options available should you prefer to remain indoors. As well as building camaraderie, group mental challenges help develop communication skills, always important in teams! Beat the Box at TeamBuilding.ie. encourages players to work together under pressure towards a shared goal. It’s a mobile event too, meaning organisers will travel to a venue near you. Those seeking a spooky thrill meanwhile should opt for Adventure.ie’s Jailbreak. Set in the real (though no longer used) jails of Wicklow and Cork, teams must decipher clues in order to escape their cells! A little less intense (but equally fun) is Build an Irish Dairy Cow on a pretty Wicklow farm… the only catch is, you’re only allowed use balloons!

Delegates learning how to play the Bodhraán at Causey Farm in Navan, Co. Meath

If you think your delegates would prefer less of a mental challenge, there are lots of enjoyable cultural indoor activities on offer too. Those with a musical flare will love Drum 4 Fun with Creative Events. Or for a more Irish twist, a Bodhrán Workshop at Causey Farm teaches the art of playing the iconic Irish drum, while Irish Music Challenge by Rocket Events takes users on a journey through Ireland’s rock ‘n roll history. These musical activities can also be held at various venues around the country; simply get in touch for more info.

Delegates enjoying a meal at Ballyknocken Cookery School in Ashford, Co. Wicklow

Cooking together is another great bonding opportunity, and the team at Ballyknocken Cookery School – a fabulous house and estate in Ashford, Co. Wicklow – run a Cookery Class where users will whip up some delicious treats, and maybe even take part in a friendly cook-off!
