For this client’s annual congress in Ireland, multiple programmes, factory visits and a business day were all on the schedule — as well as a mix of cultural experiences and Irish entertainment to give the delegates an experience they would always remember.

This particular international congress was first brought to Ireland in 2001; thanks to the great success of that year, it was decided to host the event in Ireland again in 2018. Though the client did not make use of a professional conference organiser (PCO) in 2001, they were very interested in the services a PCO could provide – especially when it came to ensuring an event’s smooth running, programme improvements and increasing congress numbers.
 
The event
The congress committee actively promoted the event in the USA and Europe, a campaign that was so successful that a number of American delegates brought over four family members with them. Ultimately the event proved very popular, attracting over 80 overseas delegates and 40 partners, along with 20 attendees from Ireland.
 
As part of the congress, delegates participated in factory visits, a social and partners’ programme and a business day, which ran seamlessly in conjunction with another related conference. Groups were also offered visits to explore spectacular Irish destinations like Killarney, Limerick, Shannon and Galway, ensuring that delegates’ minds were thoroughly inspired.

Ultimately, the event was a triumph, as shown by feedback: “Our experience of working with Conference&Events, part of the Limerick Travel Group, has been very positive.
