Championing sustainable development

In 2023, Fáilte Ireland was appointed as Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Champion by the Government of Ireland. In recognition of the importance of the 2030 Agenda, Ireland’s Minister for the Environment, Climate, Communications and Transport Eamon Ryan appointed 26 organisations as SDG Champions 2023-2024 as leaders in driving forward Ireland’s progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

Fáilte Ireland will act as an advocate and promoter of the UNSDGs across the sector, supporting tourism businesses to develop sustainable practices.

As Fáilte Ireland's dedicated business events team, Meet in Ireland is committed to aligning the UNSDGs to our Impact and Legacy programme which involves collaborating with event organisers to recognise the potential positive outcomes of their events on the Irish economy, society and environment.
