Ireland takes pride in making it easy to host green meetings. With a firm commitment to being environmentally friendly, the Emerald Isle is green in more than just name; our nation-wide focus on using sustainable resources throughout our MICE industry reflects a similarly positive shift around the world.

Meet in Ireland partners with GreenHospitality.ie, the hospitality, travel and tourism resource for sustainable and responsible tourism in Ireland. Through this partnership, the entire MICE network is supported as they continually strive to reduce their impact on the environment and leave a smaller footprint.
While sustainability is crucial, the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) extend to more than just protecting the environment — they are also about positively affecting and supporting local communities in Ireland.
In 2017, GreenHospitality.ie will be launching the CSR Mark of Good Practice, to combine environmental, employee and social/community good practices into an industry-wide recognition label. The Mark of Good Practice will make it easy to identify responsible hospitality businesses, and build a network of like-minded, forward-thinking MICE contacts.
GreenHospitality.ie Programme Members provide all the benefits of hosting successful green meetings and enjoying Irish eco-tourism, setting themselves the target of reducing their environmental footprint where possible. Programme Members are encouraged to protect and promote local biodiversity, buy locally where possible, and introduce visitors to green businesses and services in the local area.
In this way, MICE visitors can adopt a responsible approach to the environment, without reducing the quality or enjoyment of their stay in Ireland. In fact, this element adds value to meetings and activities, providing a more authentic and sustainable taste of Ireland.
