Mary Collins has strong experience in Irish tourism, developing her expertise by working across both the leisure and business sectors. As a Meetings & Incentives Officer for Meet in Ireland (where she started in 2008), Mary is most valued on her team for her ability to help inspire a great concept, nurture it, and — above all else — make it happen.
“I’m a country girl at heart, originally from County Tipperary’s ‘Golden Vale’. I’ve since lived and worked in many places around the globe, from Galway to Switzerland, Sligo to San Diego, and many more in between. I now live full time in my adopted hometown of Dublin but I’m still very proud of my roots, especially on All-Ireland Hurling Final match days, when I happily don my native county colours of blue and gold!
My favourite place in Ireland is along the Wild Atlantic Way, where my secret spots for escapism include Sligo’s beautiful Strandhill beaches, and the huge flat-topped cairn of Knocknarea. It's not all about peace and tranquillity though — I also get my adrenaline fix attempting to surf tall Atlantic waves. I love all things food and wine-related, and love to dole out advice on new places to eat, drink and be merry in Dublin.”
