Isle of Man based airline, Manx2.com have launched a new route connecting Belfast in Northern Ireland and Galway in the West of Ireland. The new service provides those travelling between the two cities with a convenient alternative to the 5hr drive.
MANX2.COM launched its new service between Galway and Belfast on the 2nd July 2010.
The Isle of Man based company, which hopes to stimulate commerce and tourism in Ireland, will operate flights every Friday and Sunday between the two cities, eliminating a five-hour journey by road.
Chairman Noel Hayes said: "We have great confidence in the long term future for the Irish economy and are pleased to be able to improve connectivity between cities in Ireland, and in turn stimulate commerce and tourism in both all regions."
"Whether passengers are travelling for business or leisure purposes, or to reconnect with friends and families, this is the perfect getaway."
Launched in 2006, Manx2.com currently carries 100,000 passengers a year between the Isle of Man and Blackpool, Belfast, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Gloucester and Jersey. The addition of Galway to its destinations is great news for business tourism, confirming the growing confidence in business after the economic downturn. This flight also reconnects Belfast with the west of Ireland, meaning business travellers to the west can take advantage of Northern Ireland’s excellent value for money, suberb professionalism and world-class conference and incentive venues, and vice versa.
