International Energy Company Conference, October 2010

The client, an international energy company, sent a tender to three European city convention bureaus including Dublin, requesting proposals from DMCs to organise their second international meeting. The brief was very specific as the client wanted the conference venue, hotel and gala dinner venue all within a five-minute walking distance of each other.
 

Two hundred participants attending the conference flew into Dublin from across the globe and the plenary meeting ran for three days with six breakout meetings happening for an additional three days. There were to be three social evenings and optional recreational activities available for guests.

Day 2

Security meeting in the Round Room at the Mansion House

Day 3

Plenary meeting in the Round Room

Mid-morning refreshment break
Two-course lunch
Druid character to introduce activities
Afternoon of activities (Wicklow tour, Guinness Storehouse, walking city tours, horse riding and clay pigeon shooting and traditional Irish cooking lesson)
Gala dinner in the Dining Hall at Trinity College Dublin
Traditional Irish band and six Irish dancers

Day 4

Plenary meeting in the Round Room
Welcome tea/coffee and Danish
Mid-morning refreshment break
Three-course lunch
Six afternoon breakout meetings in the hotel
One afternoon programme for one of the breakout groups

Day 5

Six afternoon breakout meetings in the hotel
Lunch in both the hotel and nearby restaurants for each meeting
